I woke up this morning with a smile on my face,
My heart merrily beating at a steady pace.
As I stepped out of bed, and my feet reached the floor,
My heart whispered to me that “ soon it would be time to explore.”
I dressed up in some of my favorite clothes,
A hat on my head, down to the shoes covering my toes.
The time had come to cross the threshold of my front door,
Out into the unpredictable wild, to behold things I had never experienced before.
So I stepped out on to my porch with a heart full of glee,
Excited for what was coming that would allow me to feel free.
Where would I go? What would I see? Who would I meet?
Only time would solve this mystery, and all I needed to do was move my feet.
The moment had come, and I took that first stride.
An encouraging wind at my back. A warm gentle breeze for me to ride.
It propelled me forward into a forest of green wonder,
No power on earth could force this beautiful feeling asunder.
Even though I had walked through this place before,
Its changing beauty had given me new things to adore.
The birds were a different kind and so was their song,
And I don’t remember the tree branches being this long
The bushes and plants were in the same place as before,
But their blooming flowers had my senses wanting more.
After soaking in the wonders of this beautiful place,
The breeze picked up again, and made my heart race.
Its soft, warm grip pushing me forward to something new,
Gently tapping my shoulder, as to give me a clue.
Again, it took me to a place I had beheld in my past,
But this time, the beauty seemed much more vast.
A peaceful lake hidden cozily in the middle of nowhere,
Jagged rocks, tall weeds, and old broken branches covering its shore.
There were more birds in the trees with their own unique song,
Fish swimming and leaping, as if they were dancing along.
Furry animals watching carefully from the safety of their home,
Steadfastly guarding their young, as I curiously continued to roam.
Once again I felt the warm breeze and its gentle gust,
Moving onward to the next destination was an absolute must.
Through the trees, and over a bridge that led me to a city street,
People everywhere that I couldn’t wait to meet.
I didn’t know any of them by name,
Or even from where any of them came.
Each one beautiful in their own unique way,
Living, loving, laughing as they carried on with their day.
Just like the birds, they had their own songs to sing,
Beautifully created; filled with something wondrous to bring.
With one last firm gust, the breezed carried me back to my front door,
I stepped through, and smiled as my shoes met the welcoming floor.
Just then, I heard one last song that made my day feel complete,
It was the breeze howling from outside, and it matched my heart beat.
I thought about it briefly and realized that this was gift from above.
Given by the Creator and wrapped with His amazing love.
Amos 4:13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
