I have lived a life full of bad choices and pain,
Filled with beliefs that sometimes crippled my brain.
They were often painful lies that I wanted to believe,
Even beautiful truth was oftentimes hard to receive.
Sometimes the poisons of life felt good and made me want take a sip,
But in the end, it led me on an increasingly deadly trip.
It’s easy to get buried by the things that matter the least,
Letting dangerous ideas grow into a horrifying beast.
It clutches at you and tries to hold you to the ground,
Roaring at your mind, as it makes your heart pound.
Life has taught me not to fear the beast’s roar.
We just look to God, and our life will begin to soar.
Like a shooting star, falling, and then being hurled back into space.
He takes our worst failures, and puts them in their place.
What seems like the end, becomes a new beginning,
Old wounds suddenly begin to heal, and we are soon winning.
The trials we endured bring courage and wisdom,
And briskly paint a map towards a beautiful kingdom.
Life is not always pretty, and often leaves a hideous scar,
But one day we will look back, and realize it has taken us far.
We all exist within a fallen world that is often brutal and cruel,
However, that which in broken can be fixed with the right Tool.
We keep looking to Our Lord with childlike trust,
Being shielded in faith, because it’s an absolute must.
With resilience we walk forward down a fiery path,
Fully insulated from the flames of God’s wrath.
We realize that trusting in Him was all we needed to do,
When we reach that point, those flames now protect me and you.
The weapons of this world may intimidate us with their might,
But will not prosper, as the Spirit takes over the fight.
Our lives will be ignited by God’s Hand,
New beauty in us will rigorously expand.,
Like a glistening star, our lives will truly shine,
Bursting with brilliance, and fruitful like wine.
Just remember that as long as there is breath inside,
We can continue to grow in Him when we abide.
He will light up our lives and give us new hope,
He will gives us vision beyond the reach of a telescope.
He will gently guide us as we learn to spark,
Then use us to start wildfire in places we embark.
That which held us down in the past shall have power no more,
A precious crown will be given for that which we were able to endure,
We will be lifted up, in Christ in the heaven’s above,
And comforted with everlasting warmth from the Father’s love.
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
